Volunteer Opportunity description

Red Sweater Project collaborates with developing communities in the creation of affordable, accessible and advanced educational opportunities for children in rural Tanzania. The non-profit organization operates Mungere Secondary School near the town of Mto wa Mbu in the northern Arusha Region.
The Volunteer Program at Red Sweater Project connects like-minded people from around the globe with communities in rural Tanzania to bring about long-term positive change in communities where in
frastructure and lack of social services inhibits children from gaining an education. We work together to drive positive change and make an impact. You have the power to be a change-maker. Here is your opportunity.
We are accepting applications for a Math Teacher to instruct beginning, intermediate and advanced Math courses to Form I - IV students at The Mungere School.
Mungere students live in a remote community, where English is rarely spoken and primary school is taught in the local language of Swahili. Yet, Tanzanian secondary school curriculum is in English medium and the language barrier can be a significant obstacle to learning. Teachers engage students to actively participate in Math classes and extra-curricular activities designed to broaden skills.
