The School of St Jude is a charity funded NGO that provides a FREE, high-quality education to almost 1,900 primary and secondary children from the poorest communities in Arusha. The School is growing fast as number of students is increasing and so we need more human resources to sustain our needs and be able to fulfil our mission.
We are seeking a creative energetic i
ndividual to fill the position above based in Arusha, Tanzania at the School of St Jude.
Job Purpose:
To positively impact the marketing and fundraising efforts of The School of St Jude through use of creative online and digital marketing.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Marketing Manager on the conceptual design, graphic design, and collateral production of annual fundraising campaigns
  • Support the refinement of the schools evolving visual brand
  • Design and layout of print and web marketing and fundraising collateral
  • Creative direction of photography and videography work
  • Production of graphics content for online and social media
  • Support the wider business office in the design and production of communications templates and collateral in line with the schools brand
  • Keep up to date with latest trends in digital marketing and fundraising, making recommendations for relevant revenue generating initiatives
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:
  • Minimum of three years' experience in graphic design
  • Experience in cause related marketing or fundraising
  • Advanced proficiency in design software including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign
  • Highly creative
  • Experience identifying target audiences and devising marketing and campaign strategies to engage, inform and motivate supporters
  • Up to date with latest trends and best practices in digital marketing
  • Working knowledge of HTML desirable
Skills and Competence:
  • Superior creative design skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Suite and design software skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Be flexible, open-minded, tolerant and appreciate the complexities of working in a rapidly growing charity in a developing country
  • Have a passion for our mission and a strong desire to make a positive difference performing a variety of tasks; from the mundane to the fun and interesting!
  • Work well independently and as part of a team of Tanzanian staff and international volunteers
  • Have good emotional and physical health and the energy and drive to take on new challenges
A minimum commitment of 12 months is expected.
