Job description

The School of St Jude is a charity funded school that provides a FREE, high-quality education to over 1,850 primary and secondary children from the poorest communities in Arusha.
We are seeking a creative energetic individual to fill the position above based in Arusha, Tanzania at the School o
f St Jude.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with all finance related areas; accounts receivable, accounts payable, capital spending, budgeting, financial reporting and purchasing.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for EAF & TSOSJ Boards.
  • Monitor inventory for the school, including; food, stationary, maintenance & garage supplies
  • Assist with preparation of the IAS/IFRS compliant financial report annually.
  • Supp0rt the auditor during the audit.
  • Reconcile bank statements and petty cash monthly
  • Regularly check QuickBooks to ensure account code classifications are correct.
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual capital and operating budgets.
  • Develop the accounting and financial management skills of the accounts team
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:
  • Qualified CA/CPA
  • Minimum 3 years working as a professional accountant
  • Experience in using QuickBooks
  • Strong computer skills in particular Microsoft suite
  • Previous experience in working in a NGO (preferred)
  • Experience in working in a developing country (preferably Africa)
    • Strong inter-personal and communication skills;
    • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a challenging environment.

Living allowance:
